Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard offered an honest and revealing assessment of Manchester United after his side suffered a painful 3-2 defeat at the Emirates Stadium, admitting that the visitors’ speed and power in transition proved decisive.

“In the first half, we were the better team,” Ødegaard said. “We scored the goal and had control of the game, but we had a lot of giveaways that created dangerous moments.

“In the second half, the game changed a little bit. We know the quality they have when they get space to run. They won a lot of duels and that gave them momentum. We never really managed to get into the rhythm of creating chances again.”

His comments highlighted a recurring issue for Arsenal this season: controlling games without being ruthless enough to finish them off.

United’s transition threat sends warning

United’s ability to hurt teams quickly remains one of their biggest strengths. Even when opponents are aware of the danger, stopping it is another matter entirely.
