Calum McFarlane Slams Chelsea’s ‘Unacceptable’ Start After Heavy Defeat to Nottingham Forest

The manager also acknowledged the demands of competing at Premier League level, where mistakes are often punished quickly. “You can’t do that at this level, especially against a team that’s fighting for their life,” he added.

We’ll review the game, we’ll try and find the reason why and try and make sure that the performance level is of a higher level.”

The defeat leaves Chelsea with no remaining pathway into the top five, ending their pursuit of a Champions League qualification spot through league position. Recent results have placed the squad under increasing scrutiny, particularly given the expectations at the start of the campaign.
