Coach Dawn Staley is already singing the praises of South Carolina’s newest assistant, Wendale Farrow

COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina women’s basketball head coach Dawn Staley isn’t one to hand out praise lightly — unless it’s earned.

And according to Staley, new assistant coach Wendale Farrow is already making a major impression.

A rising star in the college basketball coaching world, Farrow arrives in Columbia after successful stints at Texas A&M, Memphis, and most recently Louisville, where he helped lead the Cardinals to back-to-back Elite Eight appearances. Before coaching, Farrow was a standout guard at Western Kentucky and played overseas before transitioning to the sidelines full-time.

Sophomore point guard Milaysia Fulwiley reportedly told teammates after one workout with Farrow: “He gets me. He knows how I think on the court.”
