Archie Goodwin, Kahlil Whitney Added to La Familia TBT Roster
Archie Goodwin and Kahlil Whitney, both former University of Kentucky basketball players, have been added to the La Familia roster for The Basketball Tournament (TBT) 2024. La Familia, the Kentucky Wildcats alumni team, is set to compete in the Lexington Regional at Rupp Arena from July 19 to 23. The team is coached by former Wildcat Tyler Ulis and features a roster that includes notable players such as Aaron Harrison, Andrew Harrison, Willie Cauley-Stein, Eric Bledsoe, and James Young .
Archie Goodwin, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard, played one season at Kentucky during the 2012-13 season. He was selected 29th overall in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder and has since played for several NBA teams, including the Phoenix Suns, New Orleans Pelicans, and Brooklyn Nets. In recent years, Goodwin has participated in TBT with teams like Eberlein Drive and Team Challenge ALS, showcasing his scoring ability and defensive prowess .
Kahlil Whitney, a 6-foot-6 small forward, spent one season at Kentucky during the 2019-20 season before declaring for the NBA Draft. Although he went undrafted, Whitney has continued his basketball career in the G League and overseas. He has also participated in NBA Summer League events, including with the Minnesota Timberwolves .
The addition of Goodwin and Whitney to La Familia’s roster brings a blend of experience and athleticism to the team.
