Agur Dwol named SEC Outdoor Women’s Field Athlete of the Year
NORMAN – Oklahoma track and field junior Agur Dwol was named the SEC Outdoor Women’s Field Athlete of the Year for her impressive performance so far this outdoor season, the conference office announced Monday morning.
The 2025 outdoor track and field awards were voted on by the league’s 17 head coaches.
Dwol notched the conference triple jump title on May 19 to earn First Team All-SEC honors. Her 14.02m (46’0.’00”) (+4.1) mark places her at No. 28 all-time in NCAA collegiate history in all-conditions and the Denver native currently ranks No. 1 in the NCAA and SEC in the triple jump and 21st in the world.
The horizontal jumper has been a dominant force at every competition this season, winning every indoor and outdoor event title (eight meets) she has jumped in, excluding the SEC Indoor Championships where she was runner-up in the triple jump. She ranks No. 2 all-time in OU outdoor history with her wind-legal 13.87m (45’6.00″) TJ mark set at the Michael Johnson Invitational May 3.
Dwol was crowned the NCAA indoor triple jump champion on March 15, becoming OU’s first national title winner in the event. She joined an elite group of six Oklahoma women to win a championship on the NCAA indoor stage and earned OU’s first indoor gold medal in 12 years. She will make her first appearance at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the triple jump Saturday at Oregon, looking to add an outdoor title to her resume.
Since May 6, the Oklahoma women’s triple jump group has ranked No. 2 in the nation per USTFCCCA’s #EventSquad standings.
This accolade marks Oklahoma track and field’s second SEC honor of the season. Junior high jumper Trey Bartholomew was named the SEC Indoor Men’s Newcomer Field Athlete of the Year on March 19.
