News & Notes: Injury Updates on Beau Brade, Chidobe Awuzie.

Chidobe Awuzie, a cornerback for the Baltimore Ravens, has experienced several injuries in recent seasons. In 2024, he suffered a groin injury during Week 3 against the Green Bay Packers, which led to his placement on injured reserve. He was activated off injured reserve in December 2024 and returned to play in Week 14 against the Jacksonville Jaguars, recording his first interception with the Titans.

Prior to that, in 2022, Awuzie tore his ACL, which required surgery and an extensive rehabilitation process. He was cleared to practice shortly before the start of the 2023 training camp and made his return to game action in the team’s regular-season opener on September 10, 2023. For his perseverance and leadership during his recovery, Awuzie was honored with the Bengals’ 2023 Ed Block Courage Award.

In March 2025, Awuzie signed a one-year contract with the Baltimore Ravens. He joins a cornerback group that includes Marlon Humphrey, Jalyn Armour-Davis, Nate Wiggins, and T.J. Tampa.

Currently, there are no reported injuries for Chidobe Awuzie, and he is expected to contribute to the Ravens’ defense in the upcoming season.

Chidobe Awuzie, a seasoned NFL cornerback, has encountered a series of injuries that have significantly impacted his career trajectory. After a promising start to the 2024 season with the Tennessee Titans, Awuzie suffered a groin injury in Week 3 against the Green Bay Packers. This injury led to his placement on injured reserve on September 27, 2024, sidelining him for a substantial portion of the season .

Despite the setback, Awuzie made a commendable return in Week 14, recording his first interception of the season during a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He also contributed three tackles in that matchup, showcasing his resilience and ability to make an impact upon his return .

However, the Titans released Awuzie on March 15, 2025, following a season that was marred by injuries and inconsistent performance. In his eight games with the Titans, he accumulated 26 tackles, one interception, and four pass defenses .

Subsequently, Awuzie signed a one-year, $1.25 million contract with the Baltimore Ravens on March 25, 2025. This move aims to bolster the Ravens’ secondary with a veteran presence, as Awuzie brings experience from his previous stints with the Dallas Cowboys and Cincinnati Bengals. He is expected to compete for a starting role alongside Marlon Humphrey, Nate Wiggins, and other defensive backs on the Ravens’ roster .

As Awuzie transitions to the Ravens, his ability to stay healthy and regain his prior form will be crucial in determining his impact on the team’s defense in the upcoming season.
