Born in Griffin, Georgia, Gault arrived at the University of Tennessee in 1979 and quickly established himself as one of the most electrifying athletes in the school’s history. Simultaneously, Gault was a world-class sprinter, setting NCAA and SEC records and qualifying for the 1980 U.S. Olympic team in track and field.
