In a remarkable story of perseverance and self-confidence, Max Hurleman has committed to the University of Notre Dame, marking a significant milestone in his football career. Max Hurleman hails from Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, where he attended Wyomissing Area High School. During his high school years, Hurleman showcased his versatility and athleticism, excelling in multiple sports. His dedication and work ethic laid the foundation for his future success in football.

Following high school, Hurleman continued his football journey at Colgate University, an FCS institution in the Patriot League. Over the course of his college career, he demonstrated remarkable adaptability and skill. Initially playing as a running back, Hurleman transitioned to wide receiver, amassing 28 receptions for 273 yards and two touchdowns in his senior season. His performance earned him a spot on the All-Patriot League First Team as a special teams player, highlighting his contributions beyond the offensive side of the ball.

In March 2024, Hurleman made the decision to transfer to the University of Notre Dame as a graduate student, joining the team as a preferred walk-on. This move was driven by his desire to challenge himself at the highest level of college football and to contribute to a program with a rich tradition of success.

Upon joining the Fighting Irish, Hurleman quickly made his presence felt. He assumed the role of punt returner, a position he had excelled in during his time at Colgate. Throughout the 2024 season, Hurleman consistently delivered solid performances on special teams, showcasing his reliability and commitment to the team’s success. His contributions were particularly notable in games against opponents like Stanford and Georgia Tech, where he demonstrated his ability to make crucial plays in high-pressure situations.
