Everything Taurean York and Ar’maj Reed-Adams said prior to Texas A&M’s spring game

Ahead of Texas A&M’s 2025 spring game, offensive lineman Ar’maj Reed-Adams and linebacker Taurean York shared insights into their roles and expectations for the upcoming season.

Ar’maj Reed-Adams: Anchoring the Offensive Line

Ar’maj Reed-Adams, a 6-foot-5, 330-pound offensive lineman, returns for his senior season after a standout 2024 campaign. Having transferred from Kansas, he started all 12 games for the Aggies at right guard, contributing to a rushing attack that ranked second in the SEC and 22nd nationally with an average of 199.2 yards per game. His performance earned him a Pro Football Focus run-blocking grade of 82.4, ranking him among the top guards in the nation.

Reed-Adams’ versatility has been a significant asset; he has experience playing at both tackle positions and even tight end, earning him the nickname “OW” (offensive weapon). His leadership and adaptability are expected to be crucial as the Aggies aim to maintain their strong offensive line play in the upcoming season.

Taurean York: Leading the Aggie Defense

Linebacker Taurean York, entering his sophomore year, has quickly become a key figure in the Aggies’ defense. After a freshman season where he recorded 74 total tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, and three sacks, York was named a team captain for the 2024 season. His leadership on and off the field has been instrumental in guiding the defense.

Under the guidance of head coach Mike Elko, York has adapted to a more sophisticated defensive scheme that emphasizes communication and execution. He has drawn inspiration from former teammate Edgerrin Cooper, focusing on playing fast and physical. York’s commitment to mastering the playbook and his readiness to seize opportunities have been pivotal in his development as a leader.

As the Aggies prepare for their spring game, both Reed-Adams and York are poised to play significant roles in their respective units. Reed-Adams’ leadership on the offensive line and York’s command of the defense are expected to be key factors in Texas A&M’s pursuit of success in the 2025 season,.
