The East Texas A&M University (ETAMU) football program has distinguished itself not only on the field but also in the classroom, leading the Southland Conference with 11 student-athletes named to the Southland Conference Honor Society. In the Fall 2024 semester, a total of 112 ETAMU student-athletes across various sports were named to the Southland Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll, with the football team contributing 64 honorees—the highest among all sports at the university. To earn this distinction, student-athletes must achieve a minimum 3.0 GPA and be eligible to compete during the semester. This accomplishment highlights the football team’s dedication to academic success alongside athletic performance.

Notable Honor Society Selections

Among the honorees, several football players have been recognized for their academic achievements:

• Tyler Daniels (Hattiesburg, Miss.): A junior wide receiver majoring in computer information systems, Daniels was named to the dean’s list and the Southland Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll. On the field, he recorded 28 receptions for 399 yards and a touchdown during the season.
• Jadin Jones (Killeen, Texas): A junior offensive lineman majoring in kinesiology & sports studies, Jones started every game last season. He has been named to the President’s List and the SLC Commissioner’s Honor Roll, reflecting his commitment to both academics and athletics.
