The Big Blue Nation is ecstatic to announce the addition of Jaland Lowe, a dynamic and talented point guard, to the Kentucky Wildcats basketball program. Lowe, transferring from the University of Pittsburgh, brings a wealth of experience and skill to Lexington.
Impressive Collegiate Performance
During his sophomore season at Pittsburgh, Lowe showcased his abilities by averaging 16.8 points, 5.5 assists, and 4.2 rebounds per game. His outstanding performance earned him Third Team All-ACC honors.
Lowe’s scoring versatility and playmaking skills were evident throughout the season. Notably, he began the season with consecutive 20-point games and delivered a 28-point performance against Ohio State. His ability to contribute across multiple statistical categories highlights his well-rounded game.
Coaches’ Praise
Lowe’s talent has been recognized by opposing coaches. Duke’s Jon Scheyer commended his scoring versatility and competitive mentality, stating, “He’s a guy that can score at all three levels, and he’s not afraid of the moment.” Louisville’s Pat Kelsey highlighted Lowe’s quickness and passing vision, noting, “His ability to see the floor and deliver passes is exceptional.”
Role at Kentucky
At 6-foot-3, Lowe is expected to take on a significant role in Kentucky’s backcourt. His experience and leadership will be invaluable assets as the Wildcats aim for success in the upcoming season. Lowe joins other talented guards, including top recruits Jasper Johnson and Acaden Lewis, as well as returning players Collin Chandler and Travis Perry.
