Texas Longhorns Receive Excellent News Regarding OT Williams, Cameron

Ahead of their Cotton Bowl game against the Ohio State Buckeyes in the College Football Playoff semifinal, the Texas Longhorns are receiving some positive news.

Cameron Williams, the Longhorns’ starting right tackle, will return, according to head coach Steve Sarkisian. He was unable to play in the Peach Bowl against the Arizona State Sun Devils due to a sprained knee.

The first half of their most recent game against the Clemson Tigers was when Williams first sustained his knee injury. Fortunately, the damage wasn’t as severe as it first appeared to be. If Texas defeats the Sun Devils, it is hoped that Williams will be able to play again the following game.

Trevor Goosby, a redshirt freshman lineman, was used by Texas as the starting right tackle in his place. Even though Goosby did a terrific job filling in, the Longhorns are thrilled to see a talented player like Williams return to the starting lineup.

Williams, who weighs 335 pounds and is 6 feet 5 inches, has dominated the season. He is in a position to be selected in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft due to his outstanding play and ability to protect Quinn Ewers.

The Buckeyes have one of the strongest defensive fronts in college football this season, so the Longhorns will also need all the support they can get up front.
