Texas mascot Bevo will return for the Cotton Bowl in the College Football Playoff semifinals.
Texas football will welcome back a vital member of its program for the College Football Playoff quarterfinal at the Cotton Bowl.
And no, it isn’t a player or coach.

Texas’ live mascot, Bevo, will make his first appearance at a CFP game this season after being prevented from attending the Longhorns’ Peach Bowl game against Arizona State due to space constraints at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
Bevo was also barred from attending the SEC Championship Game, which was held at the same venue as the Peach Bowl.
“Breaking: The big guy is headed to Arlington,” Texas football announced via X on Friday.
Bevo was involved in a memorable tale between Texas and Georgia at the SEC championship game, as the two teams’ previous meeting before Texas joined the SEC was at the 2019 Sugar Bowl, when Bevo charged at Uga, Georgia’s live bulldog mascot.
The SEC, of course, did not want history to repeat itself in that situation.
Texas aims to leverage Bevo’s famous abilities to propel it to victory and a national championship spot against Ohio State on January 10.
