Real Madrid Plot €100m Move for Liverpool’s Midfield Star as raid on Arne slot continues

Spanish Giants Eye Liverpool's Dominik Szoboszlai After Anfield Masterclass, With a Record-Breaking Offer on the Horizon

Dominik Szoboszlai celebrates after a stellar performance for Liverpool, amid reports linking him to a potential blockbuster move to Real Madrid.
Real Madrid are reportedly eyeing another Liverpool star, with Hungarian midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai emerging as one of their top transfer targets. This comes after the Spanish giants were already linked with a number of players from Arne Slot’s impressive Liverpool squad.

Since taking over from Jurgen Klopp, Slot has had a strong start to the 2024/25 season, with Liverpool losing just one match in all competitions. One of their standout performances was the 2-0 win over Real Madrid at Anfield last month, a result that has sparked interest from the La Liga side.

Szoboszlai, who joined Liverpool in the summer of 2023 from Red Bull Leipzig for €70 million (£58m), has quickly become a key figure in the Reds’ midfield. Under Slot, he has been a regular starter and has impressed with his performances. So far this season, the Hungarian captain has made 22 appearances, scoring 2 goals and providing 3 assists.

Real Madrid’s interest in Szoboszlai comes as no surprise, given his strong form, but they are likely to face a significant challenge if they want to sign him. Reports suggest that any deal for the 24-year-old could cost the Spanish club as much as €100 million (£83m).

Szoboszlai isn’t the only Liverpool player on Real Madrid’s radar. The La Liga champions are also said to be interested in Dutch midfielder Ryan Gravenberch, who has had a remarkable turnaround in form under Slot. Gravenberch has established himself as one of Liverpool’s standout players this season, and his impressive performances have caught the attention of Madrid.

To tempt Liverpool into selling, Madrid is reportedly willing to offer a swap deal, including French midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni. The 24-year-old, who is contracted to Madrid until 2028 and valued at £90 million, has been linked with a move to Anfield in the past. Gravenberch, on the other hand, is thought to be valued at around £33 million.

With both Szoboszlai and Gravenberch shining under Slot, it remains to be seen whether Real Madrid can convince Liverpool to part with these two talented midfielders.
