Fulham manager Marco Silva has sent out a strong and determined message before their big Premier League match against Arsenal this weekend. Aware of the tough challenge ahead, Silva admitted Arsenal’s great form and Fulham’s short recovery time after their midweek game will make the task even harder.
Silva began by showing his respect for Arsenal and their manager, Mikel Arteta.
“Mikel and Arsenal respect every team in this league,” Silva said. “They know how hard it is to win games at this level.”
Silva admitted Arsenal’s consistency this season, noting their strong attack and solid defense. He knows it will be a big challenge to face a team in such great form.
Despite Arsenal’s strengths, Silva drew hope from how Fulham performed against them last season. Fulham held Arsenal to a draw at the Emirates and even won at Craven Cottage.
“We played two great games against them last season – a draw at the Emirates and three points at Craven Cottage,” Silva said.
Still, he admitted that Arsenal has improved this season, making this match an even bigger challenge.
Silva pointed out two main reasons why this match will be difficult: Arsenal’s strong form and Fulham’s tight schedule.
“We had a game just last night, so we haven’t had much time to recover,” he explained. “And Arsenal is in great form. They will also be more prepared for how we play, so it’s going to be tougher for us.”
Even with the difficulties, Silva said Fulham is ready to give it their all. “We enjoy these kinds of challenges,” he said confidently, showing belief in his team’s fighting spirit.
