Born on December 27, 2000, in Thibodaux, Louisiana, Lacy’s football journey began at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette before transferring to LSU in 2022. Over his college career, he amassed 162 receptions for 2,360 yards and 26 touchdowns in 64 games. In the 2024 season, he led LSU with nine touchdown receptions and was second on the team in catches (58) and receiving yards (866).
However, Lacy’s promising career was marred by legal troubles. In December 2024, he was involved in a fatal car accident in Chackbay, Louisiana, resulting in the death of 78-year-old Herman Hall. Lacy was charged with negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run, and reckless operation after allegedly driving dangerously and causing a crash that killed Hall. He fled the scene without calling for aid.
Following the incident, Lacy declared for the 2025 NFL Draft but did not participate in LSU’s Texas Bowl victory. His draft prospects were significantly affected by the charges. Two days before his death, Lacy was scheduled to face a grand jury regarding the charges.
