Longhorns Daily News: Three Texas softball players land on All-American list
The 2025 season has been a remarkable one for the Texas Longhorns softball team, culminating in three standout players earning All-American honors. This recognition underscores the team’s exceptional talent and dedication, reflecting their dominance in the Southeastern Conference and their aspirations on the national stage.
Reese Atwood, the team’s catcher, has been a formidable force both offensively and defensively. In her sophomore year, she led the nation with 83 RBIs during the regular season and ranked sixth nationally with 23 home runs. Her .433 batting average and .917 slugging percentage were among the best in the country, earning her a First-Team All-American selection. Atwood’s prowess at the plate and her leadership behind it have been instrumental in Texas’s success this season.
Sophomore pitcher Teagan Kavan has emerged as one of the nation’s premier pitchers. With a 20-3 record and a 2.20 ERA in her freshman year, she was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Year. Building on that success, Kavan continued to impress in the 2025 season, earning a spot on the All-American list. Her ability to control the game from the mound has been a cornerstone of Texas’s pitching staff.
Utility player Mia Scott has been a consistent offensive contributor for the Longhorns. Known for her versatility, Scott has excelled in various roles throughout the season.
