OU Softball: Four Oklahoma Players Named D1Softball All-Americans
The 2025 NCAA softball season has been a testament to the dominance and depth of the University of Oklahoma Sooners. As they approach the Women’s College World Series (WCWS), four standout players have been recognized for their exceptional performances throughout the season. Senior pitcher Sam Landry and sophomore outfielder Kasidi Pickering earned First Team All-American honors, while freshman shortstop Gabbie Garcia and sophomore designated player Ella Parker secured Second Team All-American selections.
Sam Landry’s transition from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to Oklahoma proved to be a masterstroke for the Sooners. In her senior season, Landry emerged as the team’s ace, leading the pitching staff with a 1.92 ERA and a 23-4 record. Over 167⅔ innings, she surrendered just 46 earned runs and held opponents to a .198 batting average. Her performance was instrumental in Oklahoma’s success, and her First Team All-American honor is a testament to her skill and leadership on the mound.
Kasidi Pickering’s sophomore campaign was nothing short of spectacular. Starting all 57 games for the Sooners, she posted a .413 batting average and led the team with a .557 on-base percentage. Her 18 home runs and 51 RBIs were pivotal in Oklahoma’s offensive lineup. Pickering’s ability to consistently get on base and drive in runs earned her a spot on the First Team All-American list, highlighting her status as one of the premier outfielders in the nation.
Gabbie Garcia made an immediate impact in her freshman season, earning Second Team All-American honors. The shortstop from Chandler, Arizona, showcased her power and poise by hitting .360 with a team-high 20 home runs and 58 RBIs. Her clutch performances, including a walk-off double against South Carolina, underscored her ability to deliver in critical moments. Garcia’s defensive prowess further solidified her reputation as a rising star in collegiate softball.
Sophomore Ella Parker’s versatility and offensive prowess earned her a spot on the Second Team All-American list. Leading the Sooners with a .418 batting average, Parker also recorded 32 extra-base hits and 49 RBIs. Her .520 on-base percentage and ability to consistently produce at the plate made her a key contributor to Oklahoma’s success. Parker’s recognition as an All-American reflects her significant role in the team’s achievements.
The recognition of Landry, Pickering, Garcia, and Parker underscores the depth and talent within the Oklahoma softball program.
