Legends Immortalized: John Brady and Ronald Dupree Inducted into 2025 LSU Athletics Hall of Fame.
In a celebration of excellence and enduring legacy, former LSU men’s basketball coach John Brady and standout forward Ronald Dupree have been inducted into the 2025 LSU Athletics Hall of Fame. Their inclusion honors their significant contributions to the university’s basketball program and their lasting impact on LSU’s athletic heritage.
John Brady served as the head coach of LSU men’s basketball from 1997 to 2008. During his tenure, he revitalized the program, leading the Tigers to two Southeastern Conference (SEC) titles in 2000 and 2006. Brady’s most notable achievement came in the 2005–06 season when he guided LSU to the NCAA Final Four, marking the program’s first appearance since 1986. Under his leadership, the team secured significant victories, including an upset over top-ranked Duke in the regional semifinals. Brady was twice named SEC Coach of the Year and coached several players who earned SEC Player of the Year honors. His strategic acumen and commitment to excellence left an indelible mark on LSU basketball.
Ronald Dupree played for LSU from 2000 to 2003, establishing himself as one of the program’s most consistent and versatile players. He is among the select few in LSU history to rank in the top ten for both career points and rebounds. Dupree’s leadership was instrumental in the Tigers’ 2000 SEC regular-season title and their advancement to the NCAA Sweet 16. Beyond his on-court achievements, Dupree earned a degree in electrical engineering and later contributed to the program as the General Manager for LSU men’s basketball. His dedication exemplifies the ideal of the student-athlete.
The induction ceremony is scheduled for Friday, September 19, at the Manship Theatre in downtown Baton Rouge. Brady and Dupree will be honored alongside other distinguished inductees, including men’s golf coach J. Perry Cole, gymnast Rheagan Courville, and women’s basketball stars Cornelia Gayden and Temeka Johnson. This event will celebrate their achievements and the rich history of LSU Athletics.
