Texas A&M will host a regional after earning the No. 16 seed
The Texas A&M Aggies softball team enters the 2024 NCAA Tournament as the No. 16 national seed, set to host the Bryan-College Station Regional at Davis Diamond in College Station, Texas. This marks the Aggies’ 34th appearance in the NCAA tournament and their 22nd consecutive postseason berth. They boast a 32-8 record when hosting regional games, underscoring their strong performance on home turf.
The Bryan-College Station Regional features four teams: Texas A&M, UAlbany, Texas State, and Penn State. The Aggies open the tournament against UAlbany on Friday, May 17, at 5:30 p.m. CT, with the game available for streaming on ESPN+. The full schedule for the regional is as follows:

- Game 1: Penn State vs. Texas State – 3 p.m. CT
- Game 2: UAlbany vs. Texas A&M – 5:30 p.m. CT
- Saturday, May 18
- Game 3: Winner of Game 1 vs. Winner of Game 2 – 2 p.m. CT
- Game 4: Loser of Game 1 vs. Loser of Game 2 – 4:30 p.m. CT
- Game 5: Winner of Game 4 vs. Loser of Game 3 – 7 p.m. CT
- Sunday, May 19
- Game 6: Winner of Game 3 vs. Winner of Game 5 – Time TBD

All games will be held at Davis Diamond, the Aggies’ home field since 2018.
Under the leadership of head coach Trisha Ford, the Aggies have had a standout season. They finished third in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and were declared co-champions after the tournament final was canceled due to weather.
The team is led by junior pitcher Emiley Kennedy, who posted a 1.68 ERA over 175.0 innings pitched and finished the season 25th in the country in strikeouts, with 183.
Offensively, the Aggies are powered by junior infielder Koko Wooley, who led the team with a .366 batting average and 18 stolen bases. Senior Trinity Cannon contributes with a team-leading 15 home runs, while junior Allie Enright and senior Rylen Wiggins each have 10 home runs.
- UAlbany: The Great Danes enter the regional with a strong pitching staff and a disciplined offense. While they are underdogs in this matchup, they have the potential to challenge the Aggies with their strategic play.
- Texas State: Fresh off winning the Sun Belt Conference tournament, Texas State is entering the regional with momentum. Their balanced lineup and solid pitching staff make them a formidable opponent for any team in the regional.
- Penn State: The Nittany Lions bring a high-powered offense to the regional, capable of putting up big numbers. Their ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities will be key in their pursuit of advancing past the regional round.
If the Aggies advance past the Bryan-College Station Regional, they will move on to the Super Regional round, facing the winner of the Austin Regional, which includes Texas, Texas Tech, and Eastern Illinois. The Super Regional is scheduled to begin on May 23, with the potential for a three-game series to determine who advances to the Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City.
With a strong lineup and home-field advantage, Texas A&M is poised to make a deep run in the 2024 NCAA Softball Tournament.
