Williams-Brice is ready for Upper Deck Golf!

From May 8 to May 10, 2025, Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina, transformed into a premier golfing venue, hosting the Upper Deck Golf event. This innovative experience allowed golf enthusiasts to tee off from the stadium’s upper decks, aiming for custom greens situated on the field below. The event combined the thrill of golf with the ambiance of a festival, offering fans a unique way to engage with their beloved stadium during the offseason.

  • Teeing Off from Iconic Heights: Participants had the opportunity to hit tee shots from multiple locations throughout Williams-Brice Stadium, targeting custom greens on the field below.
  • Clubhouse Festival Area: Before and after their rounds, attendees could enjoy a clubhouse bar with golfing challenges, great music, cold drinks, and food, enhancing the overall experience.
  • PXG Equipment: Upper Deck Golf partnered with PXG, providing players with the latest golf equipment, including the PXG 0311, Black Ops, and Wildcat irons, and Sugar Daddy Wedges. Players were also allowed to bring their own clubs (SW through 8 Iron).
  • Golfing Challenges: The event featured various challenges, including driving, chipping, and putting contests, with daily prizes for participants.

Upper Deck Golf offered several ticket tiers to cater to different preferences:

  • Standard Tee Time: Included a round of golf inside Williams-Brice Stadium, a complimentary set of golf balls, and access to the clubhouse bar with golfing challenges.
  • Premium Tee Time: Included all Standard benefits plus extra golf balls (mulligans), and free entry to the driving, putting, and closest-to-the-pin challenges.
  • VIP Tee Time: Included all Premium benefits plus complimentary meals and beverages (beer, wine, or well drinks for ages 21+), offering an elevated experience for participants

Upper Deck Golf partnered with Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C), a groundbreaking initiative created to accelerate innovative cancer research. A portion of the event’s proceeds supported this cause, allowing participants to enjoy the event while contributing to a meaningful charity.

The success of Upper Deck Golf at Williams-Brice Stadium has set a precedent for future events. The University of South Carolina Board of Trustees has approved the Request for Proposal (RFP) process to retain an architecture firm to design the initial phase of enhancements for the stadium. These improvements aim to enhance the fan experience and could include features like premium suites and club seats.
