In 2004, Erika Goodwin returned to her alma mater as the head cheerleading coach and spirit coordinator, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a deep-rooted passion for the Gamecocks. Under her guidance, both the coed and all-girl teams have consistently achieved top 10 finishes at the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) Collegiate National Championships, with highlights including a 2nd place finish for the all-girl team in 2021 and a 4th place finish for the coed team in 2021 .(University of South Carolina Athletics)
