For Bryce Clavon, playing baseball in the state of Georgia has always been more than just a goal — it’s been a dream deeply rooted in his upbringing, his family, and his love for the game.

Now, as a key player for Georgia Baseball, the talented young infielder is living out that dream, and he’s making sure to cherish every moment of it.

“As a Georgia native, being able to put on this jersey and represent my home state means everything,” Clavon said after a recent game. “It’s not just about me — it’s about my family, my community, and everyone who’s supported me along the way.”

A Star on the Rise

Bryce Clavon grew up in Hampton, Georgia, a small town about 30 miles south of Atlanta. From a young age, he showed a natural talent for sports, excelling in baseball, football, and track. But it was baseball where his heart truly belonged.

On game days in Athens, the Clavon family is a fixture in the stands, often decked out head-to-toe in Georgia gear. Bryce said seeing his parents in the crowd gives him extra motivation.

“They’ve been with me through the ups and downs,” he said. “Knowing they’re watching pushes me to be my best.”

While Clavon is already making waves in his first year with Georgia, the future holds even bigger promise.

“We have big goals as a team,” he said. “We want to win the SEC. We want to get to Omaha (for the College World Series). And we want to bring a championship back to Georgia.”

“Personal awards are great,” he said. “But there’s nothing better than winning with your brothers. That’s what it’s all about.”

Coach Stricklin believes Clavon’s leadership qualities will only grow stronger as he gains experience.

“He’s already a leader as a freshman,” Stricklin said. “He leads by example now, but as he gets older, his voice will carry even more weight. I have no doubt he’ll be a team captain here before he’s done.”

Stricklin also praised Clavon’s humility and maturity.

“For a kid who’s had so much attention from a young age, he’s remarkably grounded,” Stricklin said. “He’s about the team, not himself. That’s rare — and it’s special.”
