Thousands of runners, alumni, fans, and fitness enthusiasts lace up their sneakers and hit the streets of Columbus for the Ohio State 4 Miler—the largest four-mile run dedicated to a single collegiate athletic program. And the 2025 edition is shaping up to be the most unforgettable yet.

Whether you’re a first-time participant, seasoned racer, or a die-hard Buckeye looking to cross the 50-yard line of Ohio Stadium in style, this 2025 Ohio State 4 Miler Digital Guide has everything you need to prepare, perform, and celebrate like a champion.


What Is the Ohio State 4 Miler?

It’s not just a race—it’s an experience.

The Ohio State 4 Miler is a one-of-a-kind run that takes participants on a scenic, energetic, and emotionally charged route through the heart of Buckeye country. Capped off with a finish inside legendary Ohio Stadium—right at the 50-yard line—it’s where fitness, fandom, and festivity collide.

Hosted in support of the Ohio State Athletics and the Buckeye Cruise for Cancer, this event channels the spirit of competition and community into something much bigger than a medal.


Packet Pick-Up & Expo Info

Before race day, all participants are required to pick up their race packets, which include:

  • Official 2025 OSU 4 Miler T-shirt
  • Commemorative race bib with timing chip
  • Goody bag with sponsor gifts and snacks
  • Course map and safety information

Race Route: A Campus Tour Like No Other

The 4 Miler course is designed to showcase the beauty and buzz of Ohio State’s campus, weaving runners past:

  • The Oval
  • Ohio Union
  • Mirror Lake
  • RPAC and Student Wellness Center
  • Historic High Street
  • And finally, into Ohio Stadium—The Horseshoe—for a spectacular finish

Training Tips for All Levels

Whether you’re walking, jogging, or sprinting, here are a few training guidelines:

Beginners:

  • Focus on consistency. Aim for 2–3 runs per week.
  • Gradually increase your mileage.
  • Mix in walking intervals.

Intermediate Runners:

  • Add tempo runs or light intervals.
  • Run at your goal race pace once a week.
  • Practice on similar terrain to the OSU course.

Advanced Runners:

  • Use progression runs.
  • Focus on finishing fast—simulate the final stadium stretch.
  • Incorporate strength training and recovery days.

Race Day Logistics

  • Arrival: Plan to arrive at least one hour before the start to find parking and warm up.
  • Parking: Designated lots include the Tuttle Garage, Lane Avenue Garage, and Ohio Union South Garage.
  • Bag Check: Available near the South Stands entrance. Attach the tag from your bib for identification.
  • Pace Groups: Runners are organized by pace at the start line—follow signs and volunteers.

Post-Race Party & Finisher Zone

The celebration doesn’t end at the finish line! Head to the Post-Race Zone in the concourse for:

  • Live music from a local Columbus band
  • Photo ops with Brutus Buckeye and the National Championship trophy

What to Wear and Bring
