Redshirt sophomore Marcel Reed demonstrated his dual-threat capabilities, completing 10 of 14 passes for 84 yards and a touchdown. Elko expressed confidence in Reed’s progression, highlighting his increased comfort within the offensive system. However, Elko also acknowledged the contributions of junior Jaylen Henderson, who added a touchdown pass to his 8-of-13 performance for 100 yards, and sophomore Conner Weigman, who, despite a limited 5-of-14 outing for 47 yards, remains a contender for the starting role. Elko remarked on the luxury of having three quarterbacks capable of operating a productive offense, noting, “There aren’t a lot of places in the country that have three quarterbacks that can operate a productive offense right now.”
