Longhorns sports is starting to dominate the SEC in its first year.

In their inaugural season in the Southeastern Conference (SEC), the Texas Longhorns football team delivered a performance that exceeded expectations, showcasing their readiness to compete at the highest level.

Regular Season Highlights:

  • Record: The Longhorns concluded the regular season with a 12–1 record, including a 7–1 mark in SEC play, earning them a spot in the SEC Championship Game.
  • Notable Victories: Texas achieved significant wins, including a dominant 34–3 victory over Oklahoma and a decisive 49–10 triumph against Texas A&M, underscoring their prowess in conference matchups.
  • National Ranking: At one point, the Longhorns ascended to the No. 1 ranking in the Associated Press poll, marking their first time atop the rankings since 2008.

  • Top-Ranked Defense: Under the guidance of defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski, Texas’s defense ranked No. 1 nationally, a significant improvement from previous seasons.
