Seth Littrell, the former offensive coordinator at the University of Oklahoma, has joined the University of Tennessee’s football staff, reuniting with his former college teammate, head coach Josh Heupel. Reports indicate that Littrell will serve in an analyst role, providing strategic insights and support to the offensive coaching staff.
Background and Career Highlights
Littrell and Heupel were teammates at Oklahoma, both serving as team captains during the 2000 national championship season. Littrell played as a fullback, while Heupel was the quarterback. After their playing careers, both transitioned into coaching, with Littrell taking on various roles at institutions such as Arizona, Indiana, and North Carolina. He later became the head coach at North Texas from 2016 to 2022, leading the Mean Green to six bowl games and two Conference USA championship game appearances.
In 2023, Littrell returned to Oklahoma as an offensive analyst under head coach Brent Venables. He was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2024 following Jeff Lebby’s departure to Mississippi State.
