Paul Finebaum Explains the Factors Preventing the SEC from Going ‘Gutter’

The Southeastern Conference (SEC) has dominated college football since the mid-2000s, winning 13 out of 18 national championships since 2006.

This season, their only chance to secure another title lies with the No. 5 seed Texas Longhorns (13-2), a newcomer to the SEC. On “The Paul Finebaum Show,” SEC Network analyst Paul Finebaum noted that many SEC fans have not yet fully embraced the Longhorns.

Finebaum stated that, aside from the diehard SEC fans, most people probably aren’t supporting Texas in hopes of them winning the trophy at the end of the season. However, he noted that without Texas, the SEC would be “in a gutter somewhere.”
