For the 2025 campaign, Georgia football is bolstering its secondary with an experienced player.
According to his agent Bobby McRae, Miami safety Jaden Harris has transferred to the Bulldogs.
From Atlanta’s Riverside High, the 6-foot, 195-pound redshirt sophomore was once a 3-star prospect.
“He’s super excited, he said, ‘I feel like I’m coming back home,'” added McRae. Both he and his mother are thrilled. He went to a few additional universities, including Texas A&M, Penn State, and LSU. He made the decision that he wanted to be here.
In 13 games last season, Harris recorded an interception, two pass breakups, and three and a half tackles for loss, finishing third on the Hurricanes with 40 tackles.
According to PFF, Harris’ missed tackle percentage of 25.9 percent was tied for the most among players with more than 52 snaps on the team.
On Wednesday, he intends to return to Athens, where spring semester classes have already begun.
In 2024, Harris started every game, while in 2023, he recorded seven tackles in two games. While redshirting in 2022, he participated in two games.
Harris joins Zion Branch from Southern Cal as the second safety Georgia has acquired through the transfer site.
Dan Jackson and Malaki Starks, the Bulldogs’ starting safety, are leaving.
According to McRae, Harris was drawn to the opportunity to begin in 2025. When he was a recruit, he was already acquainted with Travaris Robinson, the former Miami assistant and co-defensive coordinator.
According to McRae, a safety with beginning experience like Harris has a market value of roughly $700,000 to $800,000.
“There were schools that offered him a lot more, but he wanted to learn, he wanted to develop,” McRae stated. “He thought Georgia was the ideal location. He is the kind of child who doesn’t think about money all the time.
