When questioned on Monday about how Gunner Stockton is preparing for the Sugar Bowl after the extended break since the SEC Championship game, Georgia football coach Kirby Smart didn’t object at all. Smart isn’t one to reveal all of his secrets before a big game.

In his first appearance since the Sugar Bowl clash with Notre Dame in the CFP quarterfinals on January 1 in New Orleans, Smart stated Monday, “I would say just experience, just practice.” Before these practices, he had a lot of reps, but now he’s getting a lot more. I do believe that you need time to prepare for a team like Notre Dame.

A source claims that Beck will not be playing in the Sugar Bowl due to a right elbow injury he sustained during the SEC Championship victory over Texas on December 7.

“The only thing I can update is they’re still going through those deliberations in terms of decision-making, process, and time,” Smart said when asked Monday how things stand. Every decision they must make together as a family.
