Bernardo Silva Blasts Man City Teammates After Embarrassing Derby Collapse

“If you’re winning 1-0 in the 87th minute of a derby, and the ball ends up with your keeper after a corner but somehow turns into a penalty for them, it’s because of stupid decisions. And when you make these kinds of mistakes with just three or four minutes left, you deserve to pay for them.”

Silva highlighted that City had been the better team for most of the game, but their inability to stay composed and focused in key moments cost them the match.

Silva didn’t mince his words when describing the team’s performance in the final minutes:
“Today, in the last minutes, we played like Under-15s, and you pay the price for that. There’s no excuse at this level. So yes, we deserved what happened.”

When asked specifically about Matheus Nunes, who gave away the penalty that led to United’s equalizer, Silva avoided singling him out. Instead, he spread the blame across the team.
“It’s not about one player or two players. When this happens over 10 games, it’s about us collectively. But of course, each one of us needs to look at ourselves individually and figure out what we can do better.”

The loss adds to Manchester City’s ongoing struggles this season. After dominating the Premier League in recent years, their form has taken a significant dip. Despite still being one of the most talented squads in the league, the team’s inability to close out games and avoid costly mistakes has left fans and players frustrated.
