Liverpool Sources Address Mohamed Salah’s Frustration Over Contract Talks

Despite Mohamed Salah expressing disappointment over contract delays, Liverpool sources describe ongoing talks with his agent as “positive” and progressing well.

Liverpool fans were shocked when Mohamed Salah recently said he was “disappointed” about not being offered a new contract yet. After the 3-2 win against Southampton, Salah hinted at uncertainty about his future, saying he felt “probably more out than in” next season.

However, sources within Liverpool have reassured fans that talks with Salah’s agent are “positive” and moving forward, even if there hasn’t been a breakthrough yet.

After the Southampton match, Salah expressed his frustration about the delay in contract talks. He said he hasn’t received a formal offer, even though the season is nearly in December.

“I have been in the club for many years. There is no club like this. But in the end, it is not in my hands,” Salah explained.

Despite Salah’s concerns, Liverpool sources have shared a more optimistic view. According to James Pearce from The Athletic, discussions with Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas, have been “positive and ongoing.”

The club believes this is part of a normal negotiation process. Pearce explained that most talks are verbal at this stage, with formal offers expected only after an agreement is close to being finalized.

“It was always going to be a complex renewal with a quick resolution unlikely,” Pearce noted.

Renewing Salah’s contract is not a simple task. He is already Liverpool’s highest-paid player, earning £350,000 a week, and he will turn 33 next June.

Liverpool needs to carefully decide on the length and cost of the new deal to avoid financial risks if Salah’s performance declines with age. This situation is similar to his last contract renewal in 2022, which took months of negotiations before an agreement was reached.

Although Salah’s comments might seem concerning, Liverpool sources say this is a normal part of the process. The fact that talks with his agent are going well is a positive sign.

Interestingly, Liverpool has not confirmed or denied Salah’s claim about the lack of a formal offer, which could just be part of ongoing discussions. Both sides are expected to compromise and find a solution, as Salah is still highly valued by the club.

Negotiations will continue as Liverpool works to agree on terms with Salah. Fans can stay hopeful, as the club’s optimism suggests Salah could remain at Anfield.

While the situation is still unresolved, it’s clear that both Salah and Liverpool are focused on finding the best path forward. For now, fans will have to wait for further updates as talks progress.
