"No Excuses, Just Focus and Improvement"—Mikel Merino says as he sends clear message to Arsenal fans After Liverpool Draw

Merino stresses Arsenal's commitment to staying focused, learning from every challenge, and pushing forward without excuses.

Mikel Merino discusses Arsenal's determination and focus following their draw against Liverpool, emphasizing the team's commitment to improvement and accountability.
Midfielder Mikel Merino responded to Arsenal’s recent draw with Liverpool by explaining how the team is coping with the ups and downs of a tough season. Even in situations where things don’t go as planned, Merino’s words show the team’s strong mentality and focus.

Merino made it plain that dealing with injury shouldn’t be a reason for losing. Although injuries are a natural part of the game, he thinks they shouldn’t weaken a team’s determination. “Injuries are part of the game and they cannot be an excuse for results,” Merino stated. He believes that instead of focusing on injuries, a successful team considers how they may get better. He continued by saying, “When you’re a group of winners, you don’t make excuses,” reflecting the high standards Arsenal sets for itself.

Merino sees the Liverpool draw to be a positive, despite his disappointment at not winning three points. He is aware that any obstacle, mental or physical, presents an opportunity for Arsenal to grow. “There are always challenges with the physical and mental aspects of a long season, but this team is ready to overcome them,” Merino said.

Merino thinks the squad should have won, which gives them even more motivation for games to come. He said, “We’re disappointed not to take three points against Liverpool because the team deserved them,” indicating Arsenal’s determination to win.

Merino wants Arsenal fans to know that the team will remain focused. He assured everyone that Arsenal would continue to advance and give every game their all. He stated, “This team is not going to lose their focus, it’s never going to give up no matter what the situation,” indicating that Arsenal would not be distracted from their objectives.

Merino believes that concentrating on the team’s controllable aspects is the key to real success. He clarified, “We only think about ourselves and what we can do to win every single game.” He thinks Arsenal will ultimately succeed with this mentality.

According to Merino, Arsenal’s mindset will determine their future. The team is dedicated to accepting accountability for its actions and avoiding external influences. “We don’t seek solutions from outside the team. We’re going to succeed in the future because of this mindset,” he said. Arsenal wants to succeed this season by continuing to work hard and better themselves.
