Chelsea Fined £75,000 as They Make History in Their Newcastle win

After becoming the first Premier League side to collect six or more yellow cards in three different games in a single season, Chelsea FC faces a £75,000 punishment. Chelsea defeated Newcastle United 2-1 on Sunday at Stamford Bridge after a hard-fought victory that included goals from Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson. Referee Simon Hooper’s series of yellow cards, however, controlled the match. Six Chelsea players and even their head coach, Enzo Maresca, had received yellow cards by the final whistle.

Wesley Fofana was given the first yellow card just eleven minutes into the game, which started off the cards. Shortly after halftime, Romeo Lavia was booked, and in the final ten minutes, Noni Madueke, goalkeeper Robert Sanchez, and winger Pedro Neto were all booked as well.
